Robert McLaughlin Gallery
The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, downtown Oshawa near the Civic Center, built in 1969 and designed by Arthur Erickson, houses works of the “Painters’ Eleven”, a group of abstract artists founded in 1953. The gallery has temporary exhibitions by contemporary Canadian artists as well as the permanent collection.
The Robert McLaughlin Gallery is the largest public art gallery in Durham Region. The Gallery serves the educational, intellectual, and aesthetic needs of the community both locally and nationally, while collaborating with other galleries that have similar goals.
Located in downtown Oshawa, this splendid building is much more than a place to view the permanent collection and changing exhibitions in a glorious setting. The vibrant programmes and services that are enjoyed by the public and members may be enjoyed throughout the year. Visit The Robert McLaughlin Gallery – Where ideas take shape.
