Hillebrand Winery

Posted February 3, 2009 by brian in Ontario Wineries | No comments yet

Hillebrand, a Niagara winemaking pioneer. For more than 30 years, we have been crafting fine VQA wines from premium grapes grown in the four appellations of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Nestled between the Niagara escarpment and Lake Ontario, we have made our home in a wine growing region that provides the diversity to grow a number of varietals in unique growing conditions.  Recently renovated, our winery provides both a wine and culinary journey like no other.

A visit to Hillebrand is and unrushed sensory experience, a time out that lets you taste, feel and discover. Our wines and menus are inspired by the seasonal evolution of the vines that surround us, and the local produce that grows beside them. Our wines, our dining, and our daily events for the wine lover make Hillebrand the perfect destination for your wine country visit.

Inniskillin Winery

Posted February 2, 2009 by brian in Ontario Wineries | No comments yet

Many of those who appreciate and collect wine have discovered that a journey to the heart of wine country adds an indescribable dimension to the appreciation of the distinctiveness of each fine wine. In that spirit, Inniskillin invites you to come by to fully experience our VQA wines at our wineries in both Niagara and the Okanagan Valley. Come to experience, firsthand, the full range of Inniskillin’s Premium Estate Wines, while enjoying the spectacular sights, the regional culinary specialties and the outstanding hospitality in two domains that are truly two of Canada’s great natural treasures – the Niagara Peninsula and the Okanagan Valley.  We look forward to toasting your arrival!

Inniskillin is pleased to welcome new and regular guests back to visit and experience our renovations. Upon entering the driveway through our gates there is a new entrance which leads to increased parking through pods set amongst the vineyards. The vast Piazza greets guests and connects the new Founders’ Hall to the existing Wine Boutique in the historic Brae Burn Barn which dates back to the 1920s. The design of the barn is intriguing and is believed to have been inspired by the work of famed architect  Frank Lloyd Wright. Founders’ Hall, which includes a Demonstration Kitchen, is a major hospitality area  for public and private functions. Founders’ Hall is also home to the Riedel Room, a private tasting space where visitors can explore the difference that Riedel Glassware makes to the aroma and taste of wines. Our underground wine library and barrel cellar offers a private space for tastings and receptions.

Our renovations will allow increased wine and culinary experiences throughout the year.

Jackson Triggs Winery

Posted February 1, 2009 by admin in Ontario Wineries | No comments yet

Jackson-Triggs has a little more than fifty years experience in the wine industry between them, Allan Jackson and Don Triggs established Jackson-Triggs Vintners in the Fall of 1993 .By the spring of 1995, they were proud to introduce their Proprietors’ Selection Merlot, and in September, their Proprietors’ Selection Sauvignon Blanc.

The Sauvignon Blanc was so exceptional that it prompted one wine reviewer to write, “I tried calling Ripley’s Believe it or Not, for here was a Canadian-made wine that knocked the socks off the imported Sauvignon Blancs.” (Michael Vaughan, Vintage Assessments, October 1995.) The Proprietors’ Selection Sauvignon Blanc is still one of Jackson-Triggs’ most popular table wines in restaurants and homes from coast to coast.
