Posted December 24, 2008 by admin in Ontario Attractions Blog, ontario attractions | No comments yet

Canada’s Wonderland

is home to SplashWorks, one of the best water parks in Ontario! SplashWorks features over 2 million gallons of heated water fun in our 20-acre water park.  Check out The Plunge, Supersoaker, the Lazy River, Pumphouse and the Wave Pool.  There is something for everyone!

Barracuda Blaster

Double up on Barracuda Blaster, as sliders zip down a high-speed pipe flume, then twist around the vertical banks of a giant whirling bowl of water before being flushed out into the Lazy River.

Riptide Racer

On Riptide Racer, rival sliders compete for first place as they take the liquid fast track down an enormous eight-lane splashway.

Super Soaker

On Super Soaker, rafters are plunged into darkness, spiraling down an eerie tunnel, which converts into an open-air flume slide under a curtain of cooling water.
The Black Hole

The Black hole is a four-storey speed slide that takes sliders into an abyss of blackness, where they will twist, turn and splash in total darkness.
The Plunge

The Plunge takes rafters over 50-feet of free-fall plunges! In a four-seater raft, riders will sail down a triple drop straight slide, reaching howling, gravity-pulling speeds.

The Pump House

Pump House is a wacky aquatic playground with a host of interactive activities, including waterfalls, rotating water jets and a giant bucket that spills 1,000 gallons of water on unsuspecting guests.

Lazy River

Take a relaxing trip on the quarter-mile Lazy River, where guests will gently float down stream on individual rafts.
Splash Island Waterways

An interactive spray ground for kids with slides and fun for the small set.

Whirl Winds

Two intertwining speed slides, where sliders get to choose which route is the fastest – Feet first!

White Water Bay

Catch a wave in Canada’s largest outdoor wave pool.

Canada’s Wonderland Theme Park

Posted December 3, 2008 by admin in Ontario Attractions Blog | No comments yet

Canada’s Wonderland is Canada’s premier theme park featuring over 200 attractions, 65 thrilling rides, North America’s greatest variety of roller coasters, Splash Works, a 20-acre water park and great live shows!

Tried and true favourite thrill rides and coasters return, ready to do what they do best; make you scream. The daring may want to be lifted 23 stories high and then dropped at 100 kilometres per hour aboard Drop Zone or test their ability to hold in their lunch on Top Gun, Canada’s only inverted jet coaster. Not to be outdone by Vortex, Canada’s first suspended roller coaster, the intense corkscrew design of The Bat, Skyrider’s shark curves and side-winding helix (standing up of course), Dragon Fire’s two 360-degree loops, the trek through Wonder Mountain aboard Thunder Run and let’s not forget the coaster that lives up to its name, The Mighty Canadian Minebuster, the largest and longest wooden coaster in Canada.

Family Attractions:
Where do we begin? Hanna-Barbera Land is a trip back to every childhood when Fred Flintstone ruled the lunch hour while KidZville features numerous attractions including Taxi Jam, a roller coaster parents and kids can ride together, and Chopper Chase, a monorail ride. Catch planes, trains and rocket ships in Zoom Zone, where the sky’s the limit aboard Jumpin’ Jet, while Silver Streak, Canada’s first junior inverted coaster with a helix will delight young thrill seekers who will dive, wind and swoop through its suspended, zigzagged track. If there’s more left in you, be sure to check out Nickelodeon Central, Medieval Faire, International Festival, Splash Works, Zoom Zone, White Water Canyon Area and Paramount Action FX Theatre.

2008 New Attractions:

Behemoth, the park’s 15th rollercoaster and biggest investment to date, is Canada’s biggest, tallest and fastest rollercoaster.  It is more than 5,300 long and climbs 230 feet high with a 75 degree drop, with speeds that can reach 125 km in 3.9 seconds.  With eight extreme drops and open air seating, this brand new ride features high speed twists, turns and horizontal loops.
